Strive to Create a Business-Instead of a Job

As a smaller entrepreneur many times operating a venture is an immense uphill battle full of obstacles and conflicts.

Even though the road is tuff and it may be an amazing challenge just trying to figure out how you’re going to make it through your current day, I want to challenge you and myself as well to begin to plan for the long-term a little, because remember successful business people plan and build ahead of present times and situations.

So one particular area that you need to begin aspiring towards is building a business, not a job. Think about the way your venture operates, does it tie up all your time, your capital, and other valuable resources?

If so then your operation is most likely constructed as more of a job than a business, which is really totally natural for any start-up venture.

Think about it for a second, it takes a lot of time, planning and hard work to create a venture that won’t be such a “baby” anymore and require your every little attention to detail, just like a human baby in real life.

A mother of a child doesn’t just give birth to a baby then leave it to function, grow, feed and operate on its own. Well a business is real similar to a child in many respects.

As crazy as the concept of your business functioning like more of a job may sound, it does make perfect sense.

Successful entrepreneurs always have said if your business cannot positively function without you, then it is more of a job than a business, because business professionals who are running strong companies have them constructed as organizations and organizations utilize multiple talents and resources to achieve an overall goal.

This notion has totally changed my life because it has made me raise my level of thinking in regards to entrepreneurship, because I have now began to set long-term growth goals to pursue in regards to how I want to build my future ventures.

When you create a network and successful team that can function and become profitable without your constant supervision and dedication you are able to save time and create stronger sources of profit.

So what do “we” (the smaller entrepreneurs) do now, because most of our operations are far from being able to operate without our constant obligation and contribution? Well there is one major opportunity available that we can pursue to help free up our time, our resources and eliminate lost advantages; that opportunity is technology. That’s right technology is our key to success.

Technology offers the small business owner capabilities that relate to larger firms and also Hi-Tech items can fill voids and offer solutions similar to a personal assistant, secretary or even a full-time team of associates.

There are all sorts of programs, computer software and devices that you must begin to investigate and invest in that will allow you to become more hands off operationally and take stronger delegation and management roles.

The quicker you begin to implement these strategies the quicker you can begin the process of spreading your talents and increasing success levels with more entrepreneurial pursuits.
