I don’t know about you guys, but I like Rachael Ray. You know, 30 Minute Meals. It’s an awesome show that shows you how to make quick meals that are super easy to put together. I never end of making the meals, but I just like watching Rachael — she just has an awesome character.
But want to know why I really like Rachael Ray? It’s because she is what she is and doesn’t try to be anything else than that. She keeps it real. Rachael isn’t a trained chef, she never worked at a 5 star restaurant, she never went to culinary school, and never studied cooking at some prestigious institution in France or Italy.
Rachael is just a regular person who likes to cook and come up with awesome / simple recipes. She isn’t into making complex dishes that require plenty of prep work and she isn’t about impressing people with her recipes. Far from that.
Rachael is just about doing what she loves — cooking. She’s never putting on an act. She never pretends to be a chef. And she truly enjoys helping people make fast and enjoyable meals. Nothing more. Nothing less. She claimed a niche — simple and fast meals — and she has stuck with it throughout.
Rachael Ray is analogous to the young entrepreneur who doesn’t feel the need to major in business in college and then go off to some prestigious MBA program. She doesn’t need any piece of paper (re: certificate) to tell her that she’s an awesome cook. She already knows that. She lives that. That’s her life.
And it’s funny to hear about how all these trained chefs don’t like Rachael Ray because she never went to culinary school. I guess that’s like some of the the MBA students who look down on young entrepreneurs because they never got “certified” from a MBA program. Haha, that’s hilarious!
Now look at Rachael Ray: she not only has her 30 Minute Meal show, but the Rachael Ray show, multiple best selling books, a magazine, branded pots, pans, knives, and even her own olive oil.
Rachael’s on fire! (no pun intended… hehe) You can be on fire as well if you just stick to the course that you’ve chosen for yourself. Be yourself and don’t let other people sway you to change tack. Have fun, continue to dig deep into your niche, and be genuine in everything that you do.
