Learn to Observe and Overcome Stress, Worry, and Anxiety

how do I stop worrying?

I get a lot of questions from all sorts of people, since I have, like, a million-and-one videos online. But I have to say, most of them have something to do with “how to stop worrying” or “how to overcome my fears” or “ how to stop my anxiety.” Fear and anxiety seem to be at the center of most of these questions I received from troubled souls. And I’m right there with you! I feel the same fears, anxieties, and worries. Perhaps the only difference from me and many of you, is that I actually inquire deeply into the source of these fears. Where are they coming from? Who is the one doing the worrying? Where are they going?

And what I’ve taken from these meditations on the source of my worries, is that, simply, they are constructions of the mind! Nothing more, nothing less. They aren’t real. They are transient undulations of emotions—coming and going like waves on the open sea. As humans, we’ll experience these waves of emotions for as long as we’re here on earth, amongst society, governments, corruption, deceptions, and, yes, even during happy times. Happiness is just as fake as sadness. And just as dangerous!

stop giving a fuck

But let me cut to the chase. My greatest tool for transcending anxiety and worry is, you ready…?, to “not give a fuck!” Yes, literally, stop giving a fuck about it. When you feel worried, allow yourself to feel worried. No problem. When you feel happy, allow yourself to feel happy. Never fight nor resist the feeling. Conversely, never even accept the feeling. Just be. Just remain. Just observe. Allow the feeling to take you where it may. Ride it like a wave.

When you “don’t give a fuck,” you are free from the stress and anxiety’s vicious grip on you. You say “ok, shit… yup… I lost a lot of money today” or “ well… yup… I really fucked up this exam..” “But it’s all good… I’m alive. I’m breathing…I’ll keep at it and continue living my life….” When you reposition your mind with this “I don’t give a fuck” attitude, you are able to continue. Because that’s what it’s all about “continuing.”

Do you have to guts to continue? Do you have what it takes to keep at it? Do you have the resolve to get up and go at it again another day? If you don’t, then you’re weak. You’re disabled. You’re a slave to your mind. You’re a child that spends more time complaining than building.

why so few never succeed

What is Success?

Take 100 young men at the age of 25 and ask them all about their dreams and passions. Ask them where they want to be in 10, 20, 30 years? All of them will speak of success. They will speak about doing what they love and being where they want to be. But how many will make in there in, say, 20 years? How many will be working some job they hate, depressed, poor, and complaining about how tough life is still? I say, maybe, one or two will have realized their dreams. Perhaps just one out of the hundred.

And why so few? Because that one person knew how to control their mind and get beyond the anxiety and worry and the others fell victim to their minds…all the while, thinking that they WERE THEIR MINDS. That’s the secret! There’s a multi-billion dollar industry build on top of millions of people not knowing this “secret.” And the secret is: control your mind and build your reality.

Your thoughts create your reality

Everything you see in the physical world was first built on an energetic level. Any experienced astral traveler knows this fact very well. But you don’t have to leave your physical body to realize this universal law. Just think about it! What’s an idea? An idea is the energetic mortar that shapes, molds, and casts thoughts into physical reality. What you think, you create! Literally, physically, metaphysically….there’s no way around it. Thoughts create. Everything you see has come from thought. Even you!!

So with that understanding, can you see how pernicious and limiting it is to hold onto worry and stress? The idea here is not to “not worry” (don’t you love those double negatives…haha) Don’t try to stop worrying and stress. That’s impossible. For there is no one to stop the worrying. For there is no one truly doing the worrying in the first place. It’s a trick of the mind. It’s a state of being. It has a beginning and an end, therefore, it’s not real. The idea here is to bypass it.

observe instead of disturb

You bypass the worrying by observing instead of disturbing it.

Never try and stop it. If you do, it’ll be like teasing an angry dog that’s backed into a corner—it’s only going to make it angrier and more hostile…more dangerous! Leave it alone. Let it remain angry and cool down on its own time…then the dog will be cheerful and playful once again. Let the crying baby rest itself back to calm and tranquility. Let your mind go through the wave of depression, anxiety, worry, (and happiness) what have you, and it, too, will return.

For it has never left what’s unmovable and static: the pure bliss of your being. Yes, your natural “state” is unwavering bliss. It is always there, but sometimes becomes obscured and rattled with you thinking that you are your emotions. Meditate daily and gain the sight to see the naked reality. Meditate to know that you are the observer, not the observed.

I've been thinking about life, existence, and truth for as long as I could remember. When I was about 7 I remember getting a headache trying to figure out who created God...and if someone created him, then who create him? I love investigating and testing, taking nothing for truth that outside my direct experience. I must be well on the way to spiritual enlightenment, I haven’t ‘given a fuck’ for ages. Mind you I do temper it with the occasional ‘well fuck that’ and a ‘no fucking way’.
I must be stress free, I only work 45 hrs a week and am also finishing a Masters course There is an ADHD kid running loose about my house and I have a wife that spends her fortnights wages the day she gets it. Blisss
