It seems ever since the success of Alex Tew’s Million Dollar Homepage, that entrepreneurs all across the country have been trying to emulate his novel idea and pocked a million buckaroos as well.
Hearing about his success many months ago while watching an interview of him on the television, I couldn’t help but to smile and be happy to see another young entrepreneur making something happen – making a MILLION BUCKS! Wow, what a feat, eh? This is the type of innovation that we as young entrepreneurs love seeing – it helps our sector as a whole and the world is forced to recognize us as a powerful contributing community in the business world.
Today, I came across another Million Dollar Homepage clone over at Home Page Tags. At first glance the site doesn’t look like much, but after really taking a closer look into the service you can see that it’s well executed, albeit obviously being a clone of the original site.
Seems that the tags are placed into a database and can viewed alone by selecting the section from the sidebar menu – sweet touch. Home Page Tags takes the smart twist by using “tags” on the homepage in a neat and organized fashion – I think that advertisers will appreciate that much more rather than having to fight to find their image such as presented on the original Million Dollar Homepage.
The UK student entrepreneur founder Sadeq Al-Ansi, 24, sums up his mission of the service here:
In an effort to make Internet history by being the first to ever launch the Internets first Homepage Collage. It is also my intention to provide an honest service where people can feature and/or visit useful homepages right here. I truly believe that Homepage Tags are a powerful tool and will have a profound effect on the way we find, save, and forward useful websites to friends and family in the future, well I hope so. I am also hoping to capture the imagination of the online world.
Well I wouldn’t call it the “first” but I love the angle he took, it’s not a bad clone if you ask me. With advertisers such as Skype, Hotel.com, and Paypal already signed on, this little site may catch on with a much broader scope of sites looking to advertise.

What a great idea Homepagetags! I like the fact that you can actually find what you are looking for by selecting a category as well as a tag word breaking it down even further, nice looking site too.
