Focus Pocus: Positive Energy for Positive Results

Can a positive outlook actually result is a successful business? And Life? You know your mother always told you to look at the bright side of things, and that sulking never really got anybody anywhere anyway. Moaning and complaining gets kind of boring after a while. But should we really spend a chunk of our precious time meditating on the good in order to bring more good into our lives?

Yes! Well according to Google and a myriad of classes, books, articles and clairvoyants out there. I’ve always accepted this notion and attempted to practice it in daily life – with varied success. Last week, as I prepared myself for what was to be a semi- negative phone call filled with me listening to someone else’s criticism of me – I concentrated on my strengths.

I knew that I was going to get criticized. And I knew I deserved it. But nobody wants to set themselves up for a beating. And what was worse was that I had to make the call. So I sat in my chair thinking silly things like I’m a great writer and a hard worker and doggone-it people like me.

Then my phone rang. It was one of the writers from my magazine. He just called to thank me for coming through for him. He went on to thank me for being more human and reliable than any editor he had dealt with previously.

I thanked him too. His confidence booster gave me the courage to make the dreaded phone call.

The positive focus theory has never really worked for me when my head wasn’t all in it, or I knew I was deserving of some sort of lesson. But, it’s truly amazing how much we really can control with our minds.

This morning I Googled “positive outlook successful business and got
22, 800,000 results; I think enough to merit a bit more inspection.

So tomorrow and perhaps Wednesday too – I’ll have more in depth info and some practical techniques focusing positive focus to help grow your biz.
