Now that your business venture is well on the way to greatness it is extremely important that you don’t forget to look behind you.
So many times entrepreneurs that have struggled through the heat and fire are glad just to make it onto the other side of the line, over into the success zone.
However despite the many trials and tribulations that you witnessed on your way towards your goals, you can’t just take your rewards and run with it. With success comes obligation.
That’s right you’re obligated to reach back and pull others up with you. No you don’t have to draw up partnership and investor agreements and give others a direct share of your company that you have worked so hard to build.
However there are other areas of opportunity that you can use to help others behind you. For instance simple educational situations, showing others in your community that they can also become entrepreneurs or business professionals. Help teach others the basics so they can have a foundation to build on.
Look at this whole community of entrepreneurs at Mind Petals. These contributors and writers don’t do these daily writings for “another gig” or a marketing opportunity!
I mean these young people have built very very successful business ventures, so they don’t need the work that’s for sure. They do it because they love it and because this online forum stands for so much more than your average online community.
It’s about helping other young entrepreneurs or preneurs to be! Money is great, OK it’s really really great, but it comes and it goes. There has to be some other rewards and satisfaction in life other than monetary and materialistic.
You think David built this community for pure profit? Of course not, every time I communicate with the guy you can sense his passion and vision for helping other young expiring business professionals.
Take advantage of your success, your connections, your experience, your wisdom, your influence and abilities and use them to fulfill your obligations. In fact when you venture out on your busy and hectic routine today, make some sort of effort rather large or small to reach back and pull another person up towards a life of entrepreneurship.

William, thank you for such an awesome, awesome article. You are absolutely right, it’s about looking back and helping others.
I’ll always remember what my Grandma instilled in me as a young boy: “Do all the good that you can, in all the world that you can, for as long as you can.”
It’s my mission to do just that: help people as much as I can. It makes me feel so good knowing that what I do can really help someone get through their problems in life. And, I too, am in constant need of help. I, too, struggle from time to time. And I am just so fortunate to be around people who help pick me up when I fall.
I live my life returning those favors and giving the help back to people that I encounter on a daily basis.
I love entrepreneurship and I truly love helping other young entrepreneurs succeed — that will always be in a constant in my life and I’m sure that it will always be one in yours as well.
Thanks for your comment David and it’s clear that your words are not just talk because of the actions that you perform. You mentioned your grandmother’s quote that she often used, well one thing my father always told me is,
“always aim to help others and treat people right because you never know who that person is or who that person may BECOME later in life.”
Good things really do come to those who treat others right. If you look at America’s history when immigrants would migrate to America, they used Entrepreneurship as a form of community.
People would start businesses and then use some of their savings to help others within their community rather family or friends start a business and so on down the line. Just think how less progressive we would be as a nation if our ancestors possessed a stingy mentality-giving back helps create reciprocity which leads to more success for everyone.
