Many of us are internet entrepreneurs, also know as: webpreneurs. And we all know that content is the king of the internet. There is no doubting that. But for many of us just starting out our web ventures, being able to produce quality content alone is definitely not an easy task. It’s really hard to produce top-notch, interesting, and superb quality content on a daily basis – takes a lot of creativity.
A great way to lessen your workload and help scale your business to a massive content producing monster is to build a team of quality writers. Sure, easier said than done, but very doable with some determination and follow-through.
Whether you own an ezine, online newsletter, or a series of content driven sites focused on multiple topics, you’re going to need a constant flow of quality content to keep your company alive, and in many cases… keep your revenues flowing in. But most importantly, to keep your readers and entire community satisfied.
A great starting point to building your team of writers is to post a listing on Craigslist. CL is a great way to reach out to millions of writers looking for gigs. Many of these writers probably won’t be what you’re looking for, but trust me, there are always some diamonds in the rough.
If used properly, CL can help your business grow to new heights. It’s an amazing site that can connect you the exact people that you’ve been looking for; people who have been looking for opportunities such as the one you’re offering.
As a bootstrapping entrepreneur, you’ll want to use the free listings under the “gigs” section of CL. I usually post under the “creative” category, then choose the “writing” sub-category.

Great post! Great Advice!!! I use Craig’s list all the time. It’s really how I built my team of writers. I also use it to find writing gigs.
Just make sure that you thouroughly screen these guys. Talk to them on the phone and through e-mail a bit before you trust them to do a job for you. Many of them just apply to everything that looks remotely interesting. Make sure they DIG your project.
Also: gigs do not have to pay. But if you’re not paying — be honest and tell them that in your ad.
