Chasing and Being

Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 05:42pm by David Askaripour in Poetry

Chasing.Chasing.Chasing.
Technology. Ipod. Blackberry.
Chasing.Chasing.Chasing.

Being.Being.Being.
Grass. Butterfly. Water.
Being.Being.Being.

Chasing.Chasing.Chasing.
“Hey look at me.” “Praise!” Ego.
Chasing.Chasing.Chasing.

Being.Being.Being.
“I love you.” A tear. Calm.
Being.Being.Being.

Chasing it.
Taking it.
Living it.

Hey Akhil, yes I would call it a race of sorts. The race between running after things and letting things be as they are, naturally. I was doing some meditating on this theme and it’s amazing to see how we slave over so many things that really don’t matter that much. How we try and force everything to be a certain way. And how technology, though helpful, has become an addiction. We think that we’re so in control of technology, but in reality, technology seems to be doing all the controlling — not us.

“…how we slave over so many things that really don’t matter that much.?”
David, it’s so very true.

How much ever we’d like to banish the thought we’re not outwardly selfish, we can’t really reach that, “try(ing) and force everything to be a certain way” … way we like it to be.

beautiful poem - so true - its sad - but we can take control - it just takes a lot of might - gotta pray for me to have more might - cause it’s so true

Thanks so much, C. Yes, we can take control. Control in a world where most of us have lost control and haven’t even realized it. Sad. But, fixable. :)

‘lovely poem…I find my self “chasing” more than “being”.

What’s up bro. Thanks dude, much appreciated. It’s all good if you’re “chasing.” Just try and keep the balance. Chasing is okay as long as it’s trailing “being” — they need each other. Polarize each other.
