ANGER Can Fuel the Entrepreneur Within
Sometimes I think about the greatest movers and shakers of history: Gandhi, King, Hitler etc.. The reason I mentioned Hitler is not because I support him (no way!), but it’s because he was just as brilliant as Gandhi and King in respect to using anger to bring about change — in his case, evil.
All of these men were angry. They believed deeply in something and felt that the current world that they were living in was lacking a solution to a social problem at the time.
Anger was the common denominator throughout the characters of these men. They each had an idea — a philosophy — and at the roots of those ideas, was a raging ball of anger to bring about change; to alter the way people thought.
They took that anger and channeled it towards a mission — towards one goal. Without that anger, their missions would have never been complete. Without it, they wouldn’t have been able to rally people to believe in them. Without it, there would be no energy and fuel to sustain their life missions.
You too can use anger to fuel your entrepreneurial endeavors. What is paining you? What do you want to see changed? What is missing in your life that leaves a feeling of emptiness in your body? What absolutely pisses you off? At the base of these questions is anger.
You are angry because what you want out of this world simply isn’t there yet. So use that anger and create! Channel that anger such as one would channel a beam of light from the sun through a lens and focus on a goal — your mission.
In order to make a significant change in life, there must be some form of anger behind your cause. It’s imperative. It’s necessary. Without it, you can only go so far.

“The reason I mentioned Hitler is not because I support him”
I laughed when I read that.

the power of anger, is a curious thing - make a one man weep, make another sing
let’s not leave out the power of love, the power of money, the power of sex, the power of education, etc etc
whatever is driving you, well - is driving you, to achieve great things. this post is not exclusively meant for solely the power of anger

Pat, haha… glad you had a nice laugh. Lawrence, yup: love, sex, money, passion, all of these things can be just as effective. Anger and passion are the most effective I’d say.

I would have to disagree with this.
I think it’s PASSION that drives us. Anger might have some affect, but I don’t think it should be the driving force. Besides, anger is a negative emotion.

Right on, Eric — anger is an negative emotion. But I think there is this sort of beauty that can be found in anger. Without anger, there is no joy. Without joy, there is no anger. Everything has a balance. Having some anger and using that anger to fuel a passion, I think, is a positive thing.

True, anger is a negative emotion, but it can be a great motivator.
