Which One Are You?

There are many types of individuals who decide to pursue entrepreneurship and there are also many different motives as well.

Some people are born entrepreneurs and it’s thriving in their blood naturally at birth and they know from the time they are a young kid that entrepreneurship will be their chosen path in life.

Others may indeed have it in their blood, but because of different circumstances like their parents were entrepreneurs so they feel they should also pursue the path.

I had a high school friend who was a “legacy” entrepreneur due to the fact that his father is a very successful and well known lawyer/business professional in the state of Kentucky and he’s actually accumulated millions upon millions of dollars due to his work as a professional.

So as a result my old friend felt that he had to pursue entrepreneurship rather he wanted to or not simply because he had to live up to his fathers name.

Now this individual who is only 26 years old owns a company in Atlanta and also one in Baltimore, so things ultimately turned out well for him despite his “arranged marriage” to entrepreneurship.

Then there are individuals who decide to chase the dream of entrepreneurship due to their dislike of the corporate structure and the fact that they feel they could do much better on their own.

These individual might not have many successful entrepreneurs in their family, but they still learned from the school of hard knocks and showed themselves how to succeed as business professionals from the scrapes and bruises of the street asphalt.

Then you have some people who talk about starting a business and never do. They sit around and write fifty million business plans and talk about how they have all these different aspects of a company coming together, but they just can’t overcome their fear and put their dreams into motion.

So as a result they end up becoming life-long pursuers of entrepreneurship instead of actual entrepreneurs.

You have some that want to become entrepreneurs strictly to make money and achieve financial freedom. They don’t care what they have to do and how they must do it as long as the cash register drawer keeps “cha-chinging” they will keep doing it.

Then on the opposite extreme some become entrepreneurs simply because they love the art of chasing deals, working with and meeting new people and ultimately having control of their own destiny.

Obviously there are also many more types of individuals who pursue entrepreneurship and then there are also some that pursue for a combination of reasons. No real reason is better than the other I guess, although some people do chase certain dreams in life for all the wrong reasons.

Despite how you got to this point, I’m certainly glad that you’re here. It’s not where you’re from or even where you’re currently at that matters most in life, but instead my friends it’s where you’re GOING!
