Carpet Baggers

We savvy internet pioneer types tend to pride ourselves on our wild-west wits. We try to wheel and deal solo-like, making our money where we can and covering our own backs. For several years we have enjoyed the wide open spaces and untamed wildernesses of internet business.

There comes a day however, and that day comes sooner and sooner the more money you make, there comes a day when the railroad comes through and turns your distant little township into civilization. We have been making more than a small amount of money out here and the rails are being laid.

First folks off the train? Lawyers.

The law has come to our little homestead and…all right, I’ve ridden this analogy about as far as it is going to go. My point is, legislators are finally beginning to write, adapt, and apply law to cyber-business with the same complexity and specificity it applies to the rest of business. With that change comes the need for real, experienced legal expertise.

I have done some comparison-shopping, and, though I have yet to personally experience their services, my current favorite is Dozair Internet Law. Despite their somewhat too-slick-to-be-legitimate domain name of http://www.cybertriallawyer.com/, Dozair appears to be real deal. Created and managed by a genuine internet entrepreneur, Dozair get great reviews and shows up in several places as a well regarded and efficient, internet-focused law firm, highly regarded for customer service and results.

Actually, if your business has grown past its initial, humble beginnings, I would hope you have already retained legal council. A personal, on call lawyer familiar with the ins and outs of your business is vital once one can be afforded. Many young entrepreneurs simply are not yet in a position for pay out that kind of money. But some times the law comes to you before you are ready. I would recommend Dozair to any young entrepreneur caught by surprise. If a summons, a subpoena, or a lawsuit appears on your desk while you are still getting your feet under you, Dozair would be the folks to call.

Of course, my lawyer would advise me to preface the above with a disclaimer, clarifying that I am not offering legal advice or legal council, but that is neither here nor there.
