Being A Greedy Entrepreneur Rocks!
In order to stay in the game and turn your startup into something big, you’ll have to stay as hungry as you can. Hungry for clients. Hungry for improving your business. Hungry for achieving your goals. And hungry for changing the world in some significant way.
One of the worst things that you can do as an entrepreneur is to lose that appetite. Sure, things may be going well for you and you may feel that you have no need for such an appetite anymore, but things can quickly turn on you; turn for the worse.
No matter how successful you become with your venture, or how good things may appear to be at times, you must continue to strive for more. We hear the saying all the time: “Don’t be greedy. Stop seeking more clients, money, changes, etc… Enough is enough!”
Right….Blah..Blah..Blah…
In fact, wanting more and even being greedy to an extent is a great thing. Gordon Gecko from the legendary movie Wall Street said it best:
The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed — for lack of a better word — is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms — greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge — has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed — you mark my words — will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA.
Wanting more out of your business is nothing to be ashamed of. Be greedy for change. Be greedy to help more people. Be greedy to improve your venture. Be greedy to change the world. And if money comes from all that, then be greedy to make even more money if that’s what makes you happy while your venture continues to help people.
