Go Somewhere: Clear Your Mind Cache
I remember last October around this time – during my last semester at college – taking a week and a half off of school to go to Jamaica for pleasure and my friend’s wedding. It was an amazing trip. For just over a week there was no business, no internet, no making deals, no stress, no nothing (doesn’t that mean “something” hah) – just relaxing and having a good time.
During a time when I was wrapping up my senior classes and working on planning out various business ventures, leaving the country and taking a break from everything was a great decision.
Sometimes you just have to get away from it all. You have to clear all the built up stress, concerns, pending deals, etc… from your mind and start from a fresh slate. Take a mini vacation, go on a road trip, go visit an old friend, just go somewhere where you won’t be thinking about business and allow your mind to wonder.
I remember returning home from Jamaica and feeling better than ever. I had a fresh outlook on my business, plenty of new ideas, and noticed an improvement in my work almost immediately upon returning.
Now, I’m not saying that you should completely turn off your entrepreneurial mind when you go on a trip – because that’s almost impossible for us entrepreneurs. But what I am saying is that you should allow yourself to think on a different level when traveling.
Instead of thinking about deals, clients, pending work at the office – think about your internal growth as an entrepreneur. Spend some time reflecting on the success that you have experienced thus far and how you were able to come about those feats.
Think about the differences that you are making in peoples’ lives and how you can make more of an impact. And think about the reasons why you are doing what you are doing as an entrepreneur, constantly seeking ways to improve upon you actions and allowing your mind to wonder in new realms of thought – possibly becoming inspired to innovate as you enjoy your trip.

Great advice. Short trips are the best; I prefer to take 3-day weekend trips (Friday afternoon - Sunday night) once every couple months. Really helps get my head straight exactly when I need it.
Oh, and get 2 rewards credit card with miles - one for your personal expenses and one for your business! Then, all your hard work as an entrepreneur can turn into FREE travel!

Yeah, short trips rock. I need to take more of them.
