Dreaming, Are You Up for the Challenge?

When many people in society hear the word entrepreneur sometimes their mind immediately begins to perceive paradise, you know millions of dollars, making your own hours, fancy cars, a big house, the entire “American Dream.” However since we all know first hand what it’s like to be an entrepreneur or expiring entrepreneur, we know that the adventure can be anything but peaches and cream on a Sunday afternoon.

It takes a special individual to step out on faith and choose to take control of their destiny with little more than an image, an idea, or more than likely really just a dream. Many people think it’s perfectly fine to work for another person for the rest of their lives and earn minimum wage, but as soon as you speak up and say that you have a dream and want to choose the lifestyle of entrepreneurship all of the sudden critics come out of the woodworks.

So what do you do when the trials and tribulations like financing issues, time conflictions with school and other jobs, discouragement and frustration, or even worse critical insults from your closest friends and family begin to swing your way? At these times it’s going to be extremely imperative for you to allow your dream to become the fueling factor of your perseverance.

Throughout history it has been proven that many successful professionals ultimately had a dream and vision, and they would not settle until that dream was fulfilled. Look at interviews with world class athletes after they have won the national championship, they will often say during a post-game interview, “this has always been a dream of mine since I was a kid and now I’m living my dream.” In fact many great legends of the past have been so steadfast on accomplishing their life-long dream that they laid their lives down for it.

Discouragement is destine to come, weariness is inevitable, and the critics and haters are always going to be right around the corner. However stay in the fight, be relentless, don’t settle for mediocrity, be a risk taker, have the heart to be different. Let me end with a simple little dare, I dare you to go forward through all discomfort and adversity and to live your dream. Are you up for the challenge?
