College Student Entrepreneurs Better be Hungry – and not just for FOOD!

Here’s what the average Joe college student day looks like:

  1. “I wakeup in the morning after a long night of television, video games,
  2. and possibly doing some homework.
  3. I then proceed to attending my morning classes.
  4. Then it’s lunch time so I go grab a burger from the cafeteria and sit with some random
  5. people in the corner.
  6. Call mommy and daddy and ask for some cash and cookies.
  7. Then I attend my afternoon classes.
  8. Then maybe some homework and possibly drifting through the dorms to visit a friend
  9. or two.”

Here’s what the college student entrepreneur day looks like:

  1. “I wakeup about an hour or two early in the morning and start banging out some
  2. emails and phone calls. Connecting with clients and working on possible deals.
  3. I make some time before class to crunch out a few more lines of code or
  4. direct my programming team to add a new page.
  5. While attending my morning classes, I reach out to a few students in finance and
  6. economics 101 to tell them about my new online service; they take my business card.
  7. After class I spend 15 minutes talking with my business professor about his
  8. connections that he attained when he was once running a startup. He shares some
  9. great ideas with me for my business.
  10. While at lunch, I not only get my burger, but I walk around and meet other students.
  11. I meet a hot girl after hitting on her for a few minutes… she tells me that she has a
  12. boyfriend…(damn!) but it turns out that her boyfriend was looking for a business partner, so
  13. we end up working together.
  14. While attending my afternoon classes, I work on jotting down some new ideas..
  15. because it’s English class and I can pretend that I’m reading along quite easily.
  16. After my classes, I stop by a few dorm parties to do some more networking and meet
  17. a few more students.
  18. It’s now 11PM and I have met a bunch of new people today, attended all my
  19. classes, found a new partner, made some calls and emails to help expand my
  20. business, got some great advice from my professor, partied, and guess what…??
  21. I still have time to get all of my homework done. YAY!”

Do you see the difference between the hungry entrepreneur that attends college and the ordinary average Joe college student?

It’s time to decide how you – the entrepreneur – plan to spend your time at college.

Don’t be average. Enough said.

Yah, I agree with the beginning hungry part. I mean you gotta be like “Tony Montana” sometimes when it comes to this entrepreneurship stuff. Somedays, you keep going by shear will even when it looks like all the odds are staked for your failure.
