Are You A Coffee or Tea Entrepreneur?

What’s your drink of choice? When it comes to coffee and tea it’s not a hard decision for me. Tea is my drink of choice.

As entrepreneurs, I am sure that many us rely on stimulants such as coffee and tea to help keep us going throughout our busy days. I have no doubt that some of us drink upwards of 5 cups of coffee per day — wouldn’t you say?

I used to be the biggest coffee drinker ever. Coffee was my crack and it gave me that special feeling that kept me perky all day long. It was just so good. However, after learning about the vast health benefits of green tea, I switched over to the green side.

I learned that green tea is great for your entire system. Helps improve your brain functioning (cognition), improves digestion, clears skin, increases the amount of good cholesterol in the body and decrease the bad, improves memory, cleans blood, fights cancer, improves immune system, etc…

Sure coffee tastes great and helps keep us awake, but tea not only helps keep you alert, it vitalizes your entire system and the Chinese and Japanese have known this for thousands of years.

Now and then I’ll hit Starbucks for a coffee, but nowadays you’ll find me drinking around 2 – 3 cups of good ol’ green tea per day.

About David Askaripour

I've been thinking about life, existence, and truth for as long as I could remember. When I was about 7 I remember getting a headache trying to figure out who created God...and if someone created him, then who create him? I love investigating and testing, taking nothing for truth that outside my direct experience. At the age of 12, I started my own candy selling business; it grew so large that the principal ended up closing me down (but that was just the beginning...) Through my videos and articles, I share my journey with the world.

I voted on both… I have been known to enjoy a really good cuppa coffee while on the run but then turn to tea at night for a soothing change. I like both and I suppose my mood influences what I drink.

When I do drink coffee, we have nothing “great” locally so I stop by our local Tim Hortons (for those non-Canadians, it’s our biggest coffee/donut chain) for a large, regular coffee. Mm… I can almost taste it now!

In fact, I think I’m going to go out and get a cup… Thanks for the influence!

    Hey Erin,

Yeah, sometimes I do have that urge for coffee, so living in NYC I have about a million shops to stop by whenever I get that urge. Enjoy your cup! :)

I don’t drink either. No alcohol, either. :) In the late morning, I’ll usually have a glass of orange juice. Then, I drink water most of the time. 3 or 4 nights a week, I drink soda, though. I’m a big soda fan. ;) But, as far as drinking it during the day, not that much.

Woah, where’s the option for neither. I’m the same as Patrick, although I drink faaaarrrr too much Coke Zero :S

Green & White tea only. I have been a green tea drinker since 1991 and a white tea drinker since 1997. Not for health reasons, but because I enjoy a good cup of Sencha in the morning and it’s cheap (white tea is somewhat expensive, though). The cheap cost of tea is what lead me to it years ago.

I’d rather drink boiled sewage in a 40 year old Army boot before coffee. Coffee is heinous.

    Cheers.

I am a tea gal all the way, love all types of tea! My business partner and I have tea in the morning for breakfast, in the afternoon for lunch, and gosh my fave tea time is for dinner, when I always have it with a sweet. Since we’ve started on ou entrepreneurial journey, this has been the best perk ever, tea whenever, its great.

Dave, stop making me feel bad about my addiction to iced lattes!! ;) At least I like to think that I get my glass of milk a day. But yes, green tea is awesome, but nothing beats that bitter taste of esperesso in the morning especially when it’s done right.

    Tea all the way

  11. David Askaripour January 14, 2007 at 2:50 pm #

Yeah, for those of you who said neither, I can definitely understand that. I mostly drink water throughout the day. Pretty much three things: water, tea, and milk (soy).

Ha, you must really hate coffee, mouesfinger. Indeed, tea does rock!

Carolina, I know how much you love tea ;)

I never had Oolong tea, Pauline. How does it compare to green in taste?

Liana, haha… I bet you do love those lattes! Yeah, well as long as you’re getting your tea in I’m happy ;)

    Luc, tea forever!

I choose neither. Tea is for when I’m sick. I a Pepsi drinker. Although I trying to add more water to my diet.

  13. David Askaripour January 14, 2007 at 6:53 pm #

Yeah, it seems as though pepsi and coke are more popular than tea..hehe

I vote for tea, although I do drink coffee but mostly decaf. This is because I like tea plus its health benefits.

    Hey Doc,

Thanks for sharing. You’re a doctor, yes? It’s great to have a doctor vote for tea :) Keep up the great work, doc!

During outings, i.e. restaurants, etc…tea most of the time. Seldom coffee. No sugar or sweetener added.

At home, it’s just plain water.

    Chris.

It’s funny, because I rarely order tea when at restaurants — guess it’s more of an at home thing for me. I do love my water so rock on, Chris.
