In April 2010, while visiting my younger brother Matty who was attending a study abroad program in Florence, Italy, my mom and I made a trip to Milan to spend a day with my cousin Hugh Findletar.
Hanging with Hugh is always a laugh. When it comes to free expression and letting go of life instead of trying to constantly control it, there’s no better person that I know that exemplifies this way of living.
From snapping pictures of super models to designing glass fish, Hugh’s design prowess is as limitless as his personality. To wake-up each day and truly do whatever comes to mind is the freedom that lies in every man but seldom experienced.
For me, Hugh has been a book into those lost times of the artist. A book of inspiration, fun, and spontaneity. A testament to future, for he’s living ahead of our time as few individuals are.
So take it easy and enjoy this short presentation of wise words. It was a pleasure to spend the day with Hugh and get to see his studio / apartment. He’s really living life out there in Milan. I’ve never seen someone walk the streets of a large city and run into dozens of people that they really knew on a first name basis.
When you live this sort of life style, as seen in Hugh’s Story, you start to connect with everything and everyone. You find a place where creativity seems to flow so easily and abundantly.
Blessings,
Dave
